About the opportunity

Jacobs is committed to playing a leadership role in Global Energy Transition. Our European and Global teams are growing and we’re looking for an Engineering Procurement Construction and Design & Build (EPC/D&B) Delivery Lead to take ownership of our growing EPC / D&B portfolio in Energy & Power projects across Europe and the wider business.
Our Energy & Power team provides a range of services to our Transmission & Distribution and Generation clients in addition to cross-market solutions to our non-energy clients. This includes work on transmission system assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage systems, inertia systems, wind and solar farms and advanced facilities for mission critical industries in the technology and process sectors.

The role would include the management a growing portfolio of prime sub-consulting services into major Contractors and OEMs across Europe. These are at the heart of the Energy Transition through enabling the development and delivery of critical Energy & Power programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own client relationship with key Contractor and OEM partners, including escalating key issues and leading on client feedback/issues.
  • Develop, implement and own growth plans, client engagement and key sales pursuits for EPC / D&B Energy & Power clients across Europe
  • Develop and ensure that there are sufficient and appropriate controls in place to enable effective and consistent project delivery to time and budget.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership across Health, Safety and Well Being: ensuring the application of Client and Jacobs best practice for health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Liaison with the Jacobs Technical leadership teams to ensure we are pursuing opportunities, showcasing innovations, and broadening our offering. Including managing reach back from across the Jacobs global team.
  • Support selection and assignment of PMs to projects, matching the PM skills to the challenges of the project.
  • Managing performance of EPC / D&B contract lifecycles, from bid negotiation, through to project execution and completion
  • Support and champion the contractual change management process. This may include reviewing, preparation or management of; NEC correspondence, Early Warnings, Contract Risk Registers, Claims and Compensation events (and associated communication registers), tracking and timely issuance of notifications, monitoring of milestones and payment in cooperation with the project teams etc.
  • Focal point for promoting awareness on contract provisions and safeguarding contractual entitlements and protecting Jacobs’ commercial position
  • Ensure that all projects are reviewed in a monthly project review (PR) or other agreed basis in order to identify current and anticipated problems.
  • Attract, recruit and retain the best talent in the industry to meet client and business demands.

Essential:

  • Contracts Administration Experience – NEC experience is essential (other FIDIC, JCT etc. beneficial)
  • Relevant EPC/ D&B experience
  • Commercial Management experience
  • Excellent client facing experience
  • Collaborative leadership
  • Operational experience in leading teams of people in a matrix structure

Desirable:

  • Chartered (CEng or other)
  • Programme and project delivery experience in the Energy sector
  • Previous sales / business development experience
  • Existing client and B2B connections within Energy sector
  • Ability to work across an organisation – from senior leadership to technical talent on the ground.
