The company

Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don’t wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that’s as flexible and responsive as they are.

That's why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it's needed.

We’ve already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than Β£4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive.

We’re looking for a Junior Technical Integration Manager in our Partnerships team (Hybrid in London, UK).

Partners send us thousands of small businesses each month looking for finance, using our Lending API embedded in the apps those businesses already use. You’ll be the person who makes those integrations work: guiding partners’ developers through the build, fixing what breaks, and turning what partners need β€” and what we learn from them β€” into what we build next. You don’t need to arrive with extensive experience of debugging API’s, but you do need to be curious and open to learning whatever it takes to help partners.

The team

The Partnerships team puts iwoca’s lending inside the platforms small businesses already use β€” banking apps, accounting software, payment providers and comparison sitesβ€” through our Lending API. Partners range from recognisable global names to one-person businesses, and each one needs its integration to work differently. The team’s job is to grow those partnerships and to keep the journey from a partner’s app to a funded loan as short as it can be. You will also work very closely with our Partner Flow team, who build and maintain the Lending API and any features partners need.

The role

You’ll be the main contact for partners’ developers, helping them with all things API. You’ll need to be curious, meticulous, and happy working under your own steam.

Mastery: become the person who knows the Lending API best

  • Learn the Lending API end to end β€” every endpoint, webhook and failure mode.

  • Guide a partner’s engineers from sandbox, to live and any ongoing optimisations. Shaping the integration they build along the way.

  • Review partner customer journeys and tell them what to change to get more businesses funded.

  • Triage live integration issues, trace them through the logs and code, and work with Partner Flow engineers on the fix.

Influence: turn what partners tell you into what we build

  • Own the technical relationship with each partner, from their engineers to their commercial leads.

  • Pitch new API features to partners alongside our commercial team, and make the case for why they’d move the numbers.

  • Be the partners’ voice inside iwoca β€” collect what they need and push it onto the roadmap.

Ownership: run the systems the whole partner channel depends on

  • Build the monitoring that tells us an integration is degrading before a partner has to tell us, then analyse and investigate what’s going wrong.

  • Dig into integration performance data to find the problems nobody has reported yet.

  • Own our public API documentation and make it the reason partners choose to build with us.

The requirements

Essential:

  • A degree in a technical or scientific subject β€” computer science, engineering, maths, physics or similar

  • An understanding and interest in how APIs work β€” enough to follow the logic in a partner’s integration.

  • Clear, concise communication with technical and non-technical audiences alike, and the credibility to manage a partner’s expectations.

  • An analytical approach that gets to the root of a problem, not just the symptom.

  • Commercial sense to judge which problems, and which partners, are worth your time first.

  • Comfortable using AI tools to investigate, analyse and get to answers faster.

Bonus:

  • Experience in a partner-facing or customer-facing technical role.

  • Experience reading API documentation or debugging an integration yourself, even on a side project.

  • Basic coding experience.

The salary

We expect to pay Β£32,500 - Β£37,500 (+20% quarterly OTE bonus) for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.

Β

The culture

At iwoca, we prioritise a culture of learning, growth, and support, and invest in the development of our team members. We value thought and skill diversity, and encourage people to explore new areas of interest, adopt better tools – including AI – and apply sound judgement so our products and decisions improve over time.

The offices

We put a lot of effort into making iwoca a great place to work:

  • Offices in London, Leeds, Berlin, and Frankfurt with plenty of drinks and snacks.

  • Events and community-led groups, including running groups, padel, and monthly ping-pong and pool competitions.

The benefits

  • Flexible working hours.

  • Medical insurance from Vitality, including discounted gym membership.

  • A choice between a dedicated dental plan or a health cash plan that reimburses everyday medical expenses.

  • A private GP service (separate from Vitality) for you, your partner, and your dependents.

  • 25 days’ holiday per year, an extra day off for your birthday, the option to buy or sell an additional five days of annual leave, and unlimited unpaid leave.

  • A one-month, fully paid sabbatical after four years.

  • Instant access to external counselling and therapy sessions for team members that need emotional or mental health support.

  • 3% Pension contributions on total earnings.

  • An employee equity incentive scheme.

  • Generous parental leave and a nursery tax benefit scheme to help you save money.

  • Electric car scheme and cycle to work scheme.

  • Two company retreats a year: we’ve been to France, Italy, Spain, and further afield.

And to make sure we all keep learning, we offer:

  • A learning and development budget for everyone.

  • Company-wide talks with internal and external speakers.

  • Access to learning platforms like Treehouse.
