The Role:

As a Health & Science Editor, you'll be a specialist writer at the forefront of creating evidence-based, scientifically robust and compelling copy across multiple health & wellness themes, channels and formats.

In this role you'll write, edit, review and publish articles, guides and promotional materials; input into tactical brainstorming and content strategy by providing scientific and medical insights where applicable; and help develop our Health & Wellness Editorial Guidelines. In thisou'll be working collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Health & Wellness Editorial Guidelines in collaboration with our science and content teams
  • Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to develop content that supports the company's goals and initiatives.
  • Create evidence-based, scientifically robust and compelling educational copy across a wide range of health & wellness topics and for a variety of target audiences. Topics will include nutrition & supplements, lifestyle and behavioural interventions, gut health, women's health, mental & physical health and many more
  • Translate complex scientific or medical concepts into easy to understand, compelling educational contents across multiple formats, including articles, guides, FAQs and promotional materials to be deployed across a variety of print and digital formats
  • Work with a range of scientific and medical source materials to develop content, including research papers, health and clinical guidelines and health data where necessary
  • Review and edit health & wellness content written by our team of copywriters/ Edit and proofread all content to ensure accuracy, readability, and consistency with the company's brand voice and style
  • Provide quality assurance: make sure all health contents produced by the team are up to standards and adhere to our Health Science Editorial Guidelines
  • Keeping up to date with health science research, health & wellness trends and provide insights to the wider content team where applicable and incorporate this knowledge into content creation
  • Assist in the development of content marketing strategies that support the company's goals and initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of content, using data to inform future content creation efforts.
  • Provide guidance and pastoral support for other members of the content tea

If you're a superb communicator who can lead projects and find creative ways to translate and communicate complex scientific messages and health and wellness concepts into easy to understand, engaging content and have a strong background in health & medical writing, we'd love to hear from you!

The Person:

Essential

  • At least eight years of demonstrable experience in healthcare writing and editing, preferably for B2C / Retail
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, medicine or a related field (e.g. nutrition, biology, behavioural health, health marketing)
  • Understanding of and ability to work with scientific, medical and healthcare terminology as well as scientific and medical concepts (e.g. types of study designs, academic referencing)
  • Knowledge of the health(care) and wellness industry
  • Experience developing a science-led health content strategy
  • Excellent research skills and the ability to conduct independent desk research
  • Ability to work across multiple health and wellness topics (e.g. gut health, VHMS, women's health)
  • Brilliant at communicating with, as well as writing and adapting content for multiple audiences (consumers, the general public, healthcare professionals / industry)
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including impeccable punctuation, grammar and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Confident in working with multiple internal stakeholders from various levels and backgrounds

Desired

  • Post-graduate qualification in a related discipline (e.g. MSc, MPhil, PhD)
  • Publication(s) on a reputable health site or in a scientific journal
  • Versatile writing experience across multiple digital platforms, such as website & app
  • Previous experience using and confident in using CRM platform(s)
  • Understanding of and experience in SEO
  • Experience working with creative agencies
  • Creative self-starter who keeps up with the latest health & wellness trends
