We are looking for a Senior Radiotherapy Engineer to join the team covering our centres in Southampton, Portsmouth, Maidstone, Guildford and Windsor.
As the Senior Radiotherapy Engineer you are responsible for the effective operation and support of radiotherapy treatment equipment across all centres including repairs, modifications, scheduled and preventative maintenance.
What you’ll do:
- Activities include planned and preventive maintenance, emergency corrective maintenance, upgrades, overview of installation work, courtesy calls to local centres, telephone and remote support either from home or a remote location
- Carry out fault finding complex electronic systems down to component level, ht and rf power generation, vacuum systems, water systems, pressurized gas systems, mechanical assembly and adjustment of the radiation beam to achieve the required output specification
- Carry out work in accordance with the manufacturer’s safety instructions and procedures (training will be provided where required)
- Report to the general manager/centre manager in a timely manner, any issues or problems that may adversely affect the product, its ongoing reliability, or the safety of any personnel
- Complete and submit relevant reports and documentation to the appropriate general manager/centre manager
- Provide support for treatment machines and equipment including routine services, attending to machine breakdowns, performing adjustments, repairs, and modifications deemed necessary
What you’ll have:
Experience and skills:
- Proven ability to manage one’s own environment and complete the tasks deployed to them
- Demonstrate innovation with regard to the service business
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organisational skills
- Completion of any relevant Elekta technical training courses would be an advantage
Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Minimum HNC/related engineering discipline or experience in providing maintenance in a relevant service environment
