Design Draughtsperson
The role
Following a growing demand in project support requirements Fugro GB North Marine is currently recruiting for a Design Draughtsperson to join our Engineering Department based in Aberdeen.
Fugro Aberdeen is at the heart of Fugro’s drive for innovation and delivery excellence in subsea engineering. Our engineering team is tasked with supporting our regional operations with innovative solutions in support of Fugro’s and our Client’s subsea operations across oil & gas, renewables, and decommissioning projects.
As a Design Draughtsperson you will play a key role in supporting Fugro’s project delivery.
Typical draughting assignments will include vessel layouts, seafastening design, rigging drawings, structural design, subsea equipment manufacturing and fabrication drawings.

Who you’ll be working with:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be working within a multidisciplined engineering team supported by structural/project/design engineers and other design draughtspersons.
Here’s what a typical day would be like:
- Liaising with project and engineering teams to develop project drawing requirements.
- Production of 3D and 2D CAD deliverables in AutoCAD and Solidworks.
- Conducting draugthting checks on your own and others work.
Who we’re looking for:
- You have draugthting experience and are comfortable using both 3D and 2D CAD software.
- Demonstrable experience in understanding and preparing technical drawings based on input from engineers or technical specifications.
- You have a proactive and collaborative approach to your work.
- Further education qualification in relevant subject e.g. engineering, design or architectural technology.
