Cleaner / Home Helper

Immediate opportunity for cleaners/home helpers in Exeter and surrounding areas, flexible hours that you choose from 2 hours per week to 20 hours per week. Due to high demand Extra Help Exeter is currently looking for honest, reliable, experienced domestic cleaners and support workers to join our team providing an excellent service to families and households in the Exeter area.

We support our clients with a range of home help services, for example, domestic cleaning, meal preparation, shopping errands, accompanying to hospital and other appointments or clubs, basic gardening, companionship and sometimes providing respite for family members who are carers for their loved ones. We are able to connect you to regular work with the same homes at the same time every week/fortnight; you choose a working schedule that fits around your commitments. You will support clients who appreciate your help and will form a regular working relationship between you and the client.

Our clients might be busy young families or professionals; or more elderly or vulnerable people for whom we provide invaluable support in helping them retain their independence and to continue to stay in their own homes for longer. The work will vary between households but on a regular basis may include dusting, vacuuming, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, mopping/steaming floors, changing bed linen, ironing and cleaning internal windows and mirrors etc. There may also be other ad hoc tasks such as shopping, meal preparation or helping with talking on the telephone and filling in forms etc.. You will be paid at the end of each cleaning session and you will be making a real difference to the lives of the people you help and to your community.

Applicants must be kind, patient and good communicators to our many and varied clients and have previous experience of cleaning to a high standard in a domestic setting. They must also be able to provide two references and to already have, or be willing to undertake a DBS Certificate.

The cleaning and home help positions available are for self-employed persons at a pay rate of between £11.00 to £14.00 per hour. A DBS Certificate is required but we can help with your application if you don't have one at the moment.
