Job title: Class 2 HGV Driver
**New Pass Class 2 Driver's are accepted**
Pay: £13.50 per hour - £30K when perm - Over time is available and bank holidays are paid at £27.00 per hour.
Hours: 5:30AM starts - Minimum guaranteed 42.5 hours per week
Location: Wetherby
Start date: Immediate with your induction on either Monday 13th March or Monday 20th March
Driver Hire Leeds East are recruiting for a well known drinks wholesaler based in Wetherby (Leeds). They are currently looking for 4 x Class 2 drivers to join their team. This will be initially on an agency basis. In this time if you demonstrate the correct attitude, you may be offered a full time permanent job.
As a Class 2 Driver you will be working as a 2 man team with a Drivers mate to deliver all different types of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks around the north of England. A normal run would be around 14 drops a day.
Our client operates from a purpose built warehouse, All vehicles are refuelled directly on site with a large yard with plenty of space to turn and park making it an ideal place for any new pass class 2 driver to start their driving career.
Prior to your shift starting the goods out team will fully load your vehicle. You are not required to load the vehicle as your role is a delivery driver only.
On shift you and a driver's mate will be required to drop bottles and beer kegs to customers premises in the north of England. Typically this will be around 8 -10 drops a day.
Full training is provided on manual handling but please be aware this is a job that includes handballing so is ideal for somebody who likes to keep physically fit.
- Drive a truck in a safe and responsible manner.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure that all safety systems are functioning properly.
- Load and unload cargo in a safe and efficient manner.
- Communicate with dispatchers and other personnel to ensure timely delivery of goods.
