The position is based in our London offices and reports to the Supervising Producer, What’s News AM.

To apply, please submit your résumé, a cover letter clearly outlining how your skills and experience meet or exceed the key candidate requirements and five links to past work that represents the type of work described. Candidates who do not submit cover letters will not be considered.

You will:

  • Propose new and original ideas for timely and relevant programming
  • Serve as a backup editor for our daily morning news podcast
  • Manage multiple projects in various stages of production
  • Fact-check and ensure that all journalistic and legal standards are followed
  • Be able to work late hours and weekends both as part of a regular weekend rotation and as news developments may warrant

You have:

  • At least three years of experience serving as an audio producer in a daily news environment, preferably at a global news organization
  • Experience working on news podcasts, preferably with a business focus
  • A track record of producing quality audio content efficiently under tight deadline
  • Knowledge of current events, U.S. and world politics, economics, and a nose for news
  • Skills operating studio boards as well as field equipment
  • A professional-level understanding of Adobe Audition, Pro Tools or another DAW
  • The ability to communicate clearly and a collaborative spirit

The Journal’s reporters, editors, developers, and audio and visual journalists create important and impactful stories, firmly rooted in fact and adhering to the highest ethical standards. We report without fear or bias, and we maintain a proper sense of perspective, detachment and objectivity in our reporting.
