Role Purpose:

We are looking for a bright and ambitious Paralegal to join our energetic Legal team in London. The role will report to our Commercial Tech Counsel and will work closely with a range of stakeholders across the business on a daily basis. You will provide support to the legal team, our Company Secretarial Manager and the wider company.

We need someone with the drive, diligence and enthusiasm that will enable them to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Corporate law knowledge and technical ability should be a given. We are looking for someone who can absorb knowledge (both legal and commercial) like a sponge and who is willing to venture beyond their comfort zone to get involved, grip projects from start to end and to make a difference. We need someone who is confident but who is also humble enough to be corrected; who is brave enough to ask the difficult questions but also willing to be challenged in equal measure.

Key Accountabilities:

• You’ll get involved with a wide range of activities supporting our Legal team and Company Secretarial Manager, including:
• Providing Board and Committee support, including, drafting of written resolutions, meeting minutes and investor consents
• Helping manage our employee option scheme
• Assisting our Commercial Tech Counsel with the review, negotiation and signing of commercial contracts, partnership agreements and data protection agreement
• Triaging and responding to daily queries that come through to the legal team
• Responding to requests for information from internal and external stakeholders and liaising with internal stakeholders to collate the required information.
• Assisting with ad hoc projects as required, including amending terms of service or various corporate projects
• Assisting with entity establishment and management

You’ll also enjoy the chance to supercharge:

• Law degree / GDL / LPC
• Strong paralegal experience (ideally >2 years) either private practice or in-house
• Openness and willingness to learn and pick up different areas of law
• Strong commercial awareness, problem solving skills and attention to detail
• A desire to use your restless enthusiasm to succeed in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and reliably deliver work on time and to a high standard
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

It would be a bonus if you have:

• An understanding of how you need to adapt to succeed in a startup
• Knowledge of, and interest in, legal tech and operations
• Prior experience working in a regulated business
• Prior experience with company secretarial work
