The Role
GLAMOUR UK is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable shopping writer to work on expanding and optimising the brand’s e-commerce content offering. This role will involve writing about a varied range of topics from beauty launches to fashion trends – but we’d love someone with a particular passion for homes, interiors and travel. Familiarity with key success drivers in affiliate marketing, and previous experience in creating search engine optimised commerce content which has driven meaningful revenue, are both highly desirable.
The Team
This role will sit within the UK digital editorial team, reporting to the Senior Commerce Editor, Europe. The team has a close working relationship with the wider editorial team, as well as GLAMOUR teams around the world (in the US, Germany and Spain, in particular).
What will you be doing?
  • Writing engaging; revenue-driving content aligned with GLAMOUR’s brand values.
  • Contribute to regular content planning meetings to both provide conversion-informed insight to the work of the team, and pitch ideas to grow and diversity our affiliate revenue.
  • Work with our Audience Growth team to monitor and increase revenue from the existing back catalogue of content on GLAMOUR UK’s website. This will be both improving on-page conversion, as well as editing and updating evergreen content to maintain long-term search rank.
  • Generate ideas for promoting commerce content on social media, video, email newsletters and beyond.
  • Contribute to producing and presenting reports, analysis and insights on a daily / weekly basis.
  • Work with the wider editorial team to cover important tentpole moments like Black Friday, Amazon Prime Day and the January sales.
  • Represent GLAMOUR UK within the industry – at press events, GLAMOUR events, product launches and press trips.

Who you are:
  • The successful candidate will be familiar with the beauty, fashion and interiors industries and know what makes for quality, empowering and aspirational digital content.
  • A clear passion and enthusiasm for the GLAMOUR brand.
  • You will have previous experience writing for a digital lifestyle brand or publication.
  • Ability to write clean, authentic, engaging copy at speed.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of consumer affiliate marketing.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of core SEO principles and best practice.
  • Ability to compile and present regular reports, insights and analysis of e-commerce progress, and translate data into meaningful content strategies.
  • Organised; methodical approach to work with a creative and collaborative mindset, and a flair for working with individuals across different departments, globally.
  • Must have previous experience working and uploading into a CMS.
Where will you be?
  • We encourage hybrid working with a two-home; three-office day split. When you are in the office, this role will be primarily based in our iconic Vogue House building, situated in the heart of Mayfair. This is where our award-winning Editorial and Content teams sit. Later moving to The Adelphi, situated close to The Strand and London’s Charing Cross station.
