Chester Race Company are recruiting Event Stewards for the 2023 race season at Chester as well as Bangor-on-Dee racecourse! Race days and events are truly something spectacular to be a part of! This role is exciting and varied, you’ll work events at Chester Racecourse, Bangor-on-Dee racecourse, as well as many other events such as weddings, private events, festivals, national televised awards and shows – all at prestigious venues across the region and further afield!

If successful you will form part of our race day safety and security team, acting as the eyes and ears of the event and above all, providing a level of guest experience people can’t help but recommend.

Working as an Event Steward you will be responsible for:
Welcoming guests to the venue
Checking tickets?
Acting as a first point of contact for general enquiries
Car park stewarding – Ensuring the safe access and egress of vehicles
Monitoring crowd safety
In the event of an emergency / evacuation you will follow safety protocols & direct guests to exit the venue safely
The successful Event Steward will have the following:
A friendly, approachable, and professional manner
Strong customer service skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure
As a requirement of the role, we will train you in a L2 Spectator Safety qualification, if you don’t hold one already
Our rates of pay?(All rates are inclusive of holiday pay)
18+ £12.22 per hour
Leading to £12.89 per hour (Level 2 Spectator Safety qualification obtained)
Shift availability
Our shifts vary! You are in control of the hours you work via our staff app.
Race days are typically 09:30-17:30, or 15:00-21:30 on evening meetings
(Longer and shorter shifts also available)
Join us in time to work at BOODLES MAY FESTIVAL 10th to 12th May 2023! Our biggest and best race meeting of the calendar year at Chester Racecourse. With 3 race days in a row this is a great chance to get lots of experience in the role and top up your wages!
