About the role

You will be one of our subject specialist in the Arts and will be signing off the exams that our students sit. From working with colleagues in our Qualifications Development department to managing the design of our assessment materials, you will also manage the lifecycle of an examination. You will oversee the production of all associated assessment materials to ensure their successful delivery for learners. When not managing and signing off assessment materials, you will work on grading, setting the thresholds that our learners are held to, and dealing with queries. Assessment Managers are an incredibly important member of our Cambridge International team.

Working as part of Cambridge University, we work to very high standards. We aim at 100% accuracy for all of our assessment materials. Every paper has to assess what we say it should assess, and the grade thresholds that you set have to provide a reliable indication for employers and universities around the world of candidates' performance in Arts subjects. You must make sure the materials are comparable from series-to-series, year-to-year, and are fair to candidates from different countries and backgrounds. With your colleagues in the subject team, you will really be involved in shaping the future of the Arts at Cambridge, and around the world.

Working with a range of stakeholders, you will have a varied caseload. You will manage the recruitment of our Assessment Specialists, including Setters, Revisers, Vetters and Assistant Examiners. You will manage their allocation of work, performance and capacity planning. You may work closely with our ministry partners around the world as you work collaboratively with them to develop and revise our examinations.

About you

As one of our specialists in the Arts, we are looking for you to have a degree in Art and Design, or a closely related subject. Your standard of English will be very high, and knowledge of assessment in an education setting is very key here. You may have spent some time in the classroom as a teacher or worked within project management within the Arts field, and it is desirable if you have a knowledge of international education.

Due to the composition of the team, this role may involve working on different subjects such as Drama, Music and Languages, as well as Art & Design-related subjects. An interest in any of these other subject areas would be an advantage.

Any post-graduate qualifications in educational assessment, project management, or experience in examinations would help make you successful in this role.
