An overview:
We are looking for an events coordinator based in London to join our Direct Sales team. This role involves coordinating hundreds of events, trade shows and exhibitions throughout the year where we introduce potential customers to Butternut Box (think shows like Crufts and Dogfest). This role will suit you if you have experience in coordination, are driven and eager to learn and of course you love dogs.
In your first 3-6 months at Butternut you will:
  • Learn about Butternut's story, mission and wider team org structure (and where your role fits within this)
  • Start to form strong relationships and build trust across other teams in the business including direct sales, events and logistics
  • Embed yourself into the culture of the direct sales team, and then start to add to it as well
  • Learn a lot about our ways of working and deliverables from your peers
  • Start taking ownership of your first events with the support of the wider events team
  • Learn how we track targets and measure cost per acquisition and start to practice these processes yourself using Google Sheets
  • Spend time in our London office with our other Events Coordinators and wider Sales team
What we expect from you after the first 3-6 months:
  • You are comfortable with planning ahead and carefully coordinating your events to ensure they run smoothly from start to finish. This includes negotiating with event organisers on things like price and location of pitch, building relationships with our brand ambassadors and supporting on wider events projects (like sponsorships)
  • You are confident in finding and booking accommodation for the team and liaising with accommodation hosts
  • You do all your own reporting, analysis and visualising on key KPI's to the team and wider business
  • You are able to identify any new events that we should be going to as a business & take proactive steps to help us break into them
  • You understand our customer base and the competitive events landscape surrounding it
  • You have built strong, cross departmental relationships
A bit about you.
Ideally you will have some event coordination experience, but we are also happy to consider applicants that are looking for their first step into this sector. However, you must have demonstrable evidence that you are highly organised, ambitious, motivated and eager to learn from those around you. You must also:
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Able to commit to occasional travel around the UK and weekend work (this is a hybrid role with working days split between the office, working from home and sometimes in the field at top events)
  • Be a huge dog lover of course!

A bit about us.

At Butternut, we put the food back into dog food. We believe dogs deserve to eat the healthiest, most natural and tastiest food with none of the nasties. That's why we make freshly prepared dog food. Cooked like you would at home. Delivered in perfect portions. #LI-Hybrid

We've come a long way since our co-founders (Kev & Dave) hand-delivered the first Butternut Box, we now feed a lot of dogs across the UK - but we want to feed dogs everywhere. And to do this, we need a team of brilliant people who share that ambition to come and work with us.

  • As our business has grown so has our responsibility to our community, our planet and our business. We are not perfect, but we are committed to doing business the right way and continually improving our social and environmental performance.
  • We're not afraid of putting extra weight on candidates from underrepresented groups. We want strong, diverse teams built from different backgrounds, experiences, and identities. We're ready for the ongoing work that goes into building an inclusive, supportive place for you to do the best work of your career.
