Our Global Learning Academy (GLA) is expanding the Supplier Management function and is seeking an enthusiastic Supplier Management Executive, with a keen eye for detail and experience of working in a busy operational environment.

This is an exciting role which operates within the GLA Commercial team, where you will also learn more about our training facilities, such as the flight simulators and other third-party customers.

The Role

As a Supplier Management Executive, you will be responsible for the ownership of the tactical day to day running of the GLA Supplier Management function, ensuring key KPI’s are met including, coordination of external suppliers, contractor resources, supplier transactions, reporting and maintaining an approved GLA supplier list.

Reporting into the Supplier Relationship Manager, you will support with setting of the GLA Finance & Business plans and act as the point of escalation for external suppliers and contractors. You will be supported in identifying suitable learning/networking opportunities to help build your profile and knowledge.

The most rewarding part of this role is seeing how your work helps contribute towards the organisational goals, such as the purchase of a large piece of equipment for compliant training, reducing costs and paying suppliers on time.

Duties will include:

  • Supporting the Supplier Relationship Manager during the yearly financial cycle to review, forecast and plan spend.
  • Handling the data integrity for suppliers in Salesforce, ensuring accurate supplier records and contract management
  • Maximising the value of Supplier Partner relationships through the strategic management plans and governance processes
  • Running the Supplier Management SharePoint site
  • Ensuring supplier processes are clear, effective and efficient so that costs are controlled effectively, leveraging the use of digital tools & automation
  • Running and tracking spend against agreed budgets and contracts
  • Manage contracts & liaise with 3rd party external instructors

Your skills and experience

  • Understanding of aviation industry/similar operational commercial environment
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Finance and budgetary awareness, i.e. setting and handling budgets
  • Commercial, contracts and supplier management, coupled with outstanding skills in maintaining unique and complicated supplier relationships.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Tech savvy – knowledge of Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Lightning (desirable)
  • Supply Chain or buying experience (desirable)
  • Experience of using Purchase Ordering/ERP systems (desirable)
