Architect / Senior Architect for Airport Project

We are looking for an Architect or Senior Architect with 5-10 years of experience to join our London office with aviation experience through all work stages, preferably with experience working in the Middle East.

ARCHITECT:

• Work with and report daily to the Project Leader
• Assist with the management of junior team members
• Drafting comprehensive drawing sets from concept through construction documents
• Generate detailed 3D models to develop all parts of the changing design process
• Technical detailing & construction administration experience, with the ability to resolve design issues in a creative and pragmatic way by developing multiple design options that meet the project budget and design approach
• Strong ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings and models as they relate to the project
• Good conceptual and design skills, with aesthetic flair
• Communication, coordination and management of consultants, contractors, clients, regulatory agencies and approving bodies to meet overall project objectives

SENIOR ARCHITECT:

• Reporting to the Project Leader on design aspects and to the Managing Director on operations, risk management, contractual, and others matters.
• Liaise with clients when required to drive discussions to resolution.
• Strategically design timelines and work-plans.
• Proactively deal with risk assessment and management.
• To advise, direct and educate all design processes from a technical and buildability perspective.
• To advise the project team to develop compelling creative design scenarios.
• Drafting comprehensive drawing sets from concept through construction documents
• Generate detailed 3D models to develop all parts of the changing design process
• Technical detailing & construction administration experience, with the ability to resolve design issues in a creative and pragmatic way by developing multiple design options that meet the project budget and design approach
• Strong ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings and models as they relate to the project
• Contribute as required to the Design Reviews.
• Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
• Providing technical guidance and innovative solutions to help resolve complex technical and design challenges

Essential skills:

• Excellent communication skills, fluent in English - spoken and written. Arabic an advantage
• Significant contributions to an extremely well documented and coordinated drawing set
• Excellent ability in Revit, Rhino, Adobe Suite. Grasshopper and V-Ray is a plus
• Solid knowledge of products, materials, zoning / building codes and construction methods, preferably in the Middle East
• Strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines on budget and on time
• A keen eye for attention to detail and accuracy
• Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative in response to direction from project leaders, directors, and partners
• A team player, with a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and collaborating

Experience and qualifications:

• Professional qualification as an Architect or an equivalent overseas qualification
• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience
• Experience with Aviation / Airport architecture and construction
• Experience with legislation and building code on build projects, preferably in the Middle East
