Role Title Head of Sustainable Transaction Banking

What will you be doing
- Develop and own the Sustainable Transaction Banking strategy for both new and existing propositions, fundamental to our approach as a leading trusted advisor to clients, in particular Treasurers, on Sustainable Finance.
- Drive material P&L opportunities through deal origination; opportunities for the Corporate & Investment Bank Sustainable Product Group to act as ESG Coordinator in Syndicated deals
- Cross sell other Sustainable Finance teams’ propositions and other group revenue opportunities.
- Own and develop long term and economic key partnerships with coverage business units and other third Parties aligned with the sustainable finance agenda.
- Optimise returns from client opportunities either at bespoke or at structured portfolio levels.
- Work with the broader Sustainable Product Group to be responsible for the reputational risk of the sustainable trade finance and liquidity transactions
What we’re looking for
- First in class understanding of the sustainable financing and capital market environment.
- First in class leadership and management skills, ability to start, motivate and develop a small team as well as manage stakeholders from around Corporate & Investment Bank and wider Barclays Group.
- First in class financial understanding, able to analyse and interpret financial accounts, build financial models and run informed scenario and stress testing.
- First in class commercial acumen and business development skills, with the ability to make decisions based on sound judgement and complex information
- Leading knowledge of macroeconomic factors affecting clients, transaction banking and capital markets
Skills that will help you in your
- Established track record in in pitching and negotiating with clients
- Strong network, including key stakeholders of the sustainable finance business
- Suitable professional qualifications and degree, masters preferred
- Creative and innovative thinking
- Credit risk experience within a financial institution

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
