Sheltered Housing Warden Manager
Balkerne Gardens Trust is a not for profit organisation, providing pathways of care and support to older people in the Colchester area.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Sheltered Housing Warden Manager to oversee our scheme of 69 sheltered housing flats in the centre of Colchester.
Safe and secure homes can make people’s lives. Therefore, you will be responsible for the day to day management of our Sheltered Housing complex, including health and safety compliance and fire checks, assisting tenants with low-level anti-social behaviour problems, queries around repairs and helping new tenants to settle in. Previous experience of working with older people is essential and previous experience in housing is preferred.
You will need to have experience in leading a team, be able to work on your own initiative and be computer literate. You will have a friendly and happy demeanour, enjoy speaking with tenants and support them by signposting information on other services, as well as arranging outings, social activities and entertainment for them.
You will be leading an excellent team who support our tenants to maintain their independence, enabling them to stay in their own homes for as long as possible.
This role is part time (up to 30 hours per week) but flexibility is essential due to activities that may occur in the evening or at weekends.
Salary is £27,000 per annum (based on 30 hours per week).
20 days annual leave and 8 days bank holiday pus an additional 5 days annual leave per annum for participating in the Manager on-call rota.
