Data Intelligence Analyst - Year in Industry

The Data Intelligence Analyst role (an undergraduate placement) centres around understanding and analysing company data. This data will relate to the company sales and performance as well as the overall market sales and how we as Atlas Copco Compressors performed versus our competitors. By analysing this data, the company is able to highlight key focus areas, measure overall performance and plan for the future.

Through the enhancement of data this role will also be able to identify new potential areas for business as well as assisting our sales team with using the customer relationship management system correctly and effectively to get the most out of the information it provides.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an undergraduate looking for a placement during their studies.

Day to day you will make a difference by…

  • Reporting. Creating a variety of reports which will be used as an analytical tool used by various departments. Areas of reporting include sales data, customer appointments and lead generation.
  • Utilising Microsoft Power BI. Developing our usage of this tool and maintaining and improving existing reports. This role will be one of the key users and knowledge sources for this software.
  • Assisting the management team with decision making by creating analytical reports. These reports, which will show an insight into customer activity, can affect daily business and the direction of the organisation.
  • Identifying issues that may be occurring with customer data and assisting in providing solutions to prevent future issues.
  • The data intelligence role will play a key role in intelligence and data driven lead generation.
  • Use of mapping software to provide accurate visualisations of customer and sales data locations and territories to assist the management team in making critical business decisions.
  • CRM Data Cleansing. Assisting with data cleansing by running reports to highlight trends / issues
  • CRM System and Customer projects. Supporting the CRM team with the upkeep of the system, ensuring that our customer/prospect data is as accurate as possible. Other projects will also stem from this work.
  • Working As a Key Member of the Team. Supporting colleagues with immediate and wider team; completing tasks and providing essential job cover when required including phone cover, live chat and e-commerce.

In return for your commitment, we can offer you…

  • Empowerment to own your own tasks and have a valued input from day one.
  • A fresh, contemporary working environment at our Hemel Hempstead office, which follows the ‘activity-based working’ model.
  • A varied job in an international environment in which you will be able to actively contribute to the success of our intelligence driven projects.
  • The opportunity to be part of a team who are dynamic and always driving forward to find the best possible processes and solutions.
  • A variety of learning opportunities within the team and office environment including certification in Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Excel.
  • Free meal in our onsite canteen each week!

The person we are looking for is….

  • Undertaking an undergraduate degree involving one of the following areas: Business, Economics, IT/Computing or Statistics though other degrees will be considered.
  • Have a high level of analytical skill and enjoy working with large quantities of data, which will be key to succeeding in this role.
  • Have at least an intermediate level skillset of working with a number of computing applications essentially Microsoft Excel but also a good knowledge on the other Microsoft Office applications. Any other system history is desirable but not essential.
  • Have good communication skills through various methods including verbally and written as well as strong presentation skills as potential meetings with members of the management team will occur.
  • Able to understand and work with a large number of different processes and be able to identify possible improvements.
