Apple’s PMU Hardware Tech team are responsible for delivering the power in a highly configurable and controlled way to the high-end Apple SoCs, which power everything from Apple Watch and Apple TV to iPhone, iPad and Mac. Our Engineering PCB team takes pride in supporting our SiVal and Silicon Design teams to build complex and innovative boards. You will be part of a highly experienced team, delivering PMU silicon directly into next generation Apple products. We are looking for an outstanding, highly driven technical leader to head the PMU PCB Layout team. Someone with talent, ambition, passion, with an understanding of printed circuit board design (PCB) and the drive to guide and inspire their team members.
Key Qualifications
- Hands-on manager with PCB Layout experience, who can lead by example to empower and challenge the team to deliver their best.
- Deep knowledge of PCB Layout - experienced in the design of leading innovative, complex circuitry including high density and extra fine pitches.
- In-depth understanding of PCB manufacturing, assembly processes and pioneering technologies
- Significant experience with PCB Design tool flows.
- Results-oriented and able to deliver on-time while prioritising multiple work streams.
- Independent and proactive working style while making sound technical and managerial decisions.
- Ability to work well on a team, take ownership and motivate self and others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams, contract manufacturers and vendors.
Description
- Lead and coordinate a team developing PCB Layouts for validation, characterisation and qualification purposes. - Mentor and develop PCB Layout Engineers and assist in the resolution of critical design problems - Work closely with the Silicon Validation teams to understand the board requirements, providing help and guidance during the schematic generation stage. - Provide competitive and accurate project plans to meet relevant project milestones in collaboration with Engineering Project Managers. - Propose PCB design trade-offs to the engineering design team for resolution and implementation where appropriate. - Maintain technical coordination with Design Engineering, Silicon Validation and Manufacturing. - Support on solving PCB design issues with fabrication and manufacturing vendors. - Define best practice layout methodologies.
Education & Experience
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent is required.
