Steel Warehouse Operative

Apollo Metals (2004) Ltd is a family run Bright and Engineering Bar stockholder and has been established in Sheffield since 2004.

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our knowledgeable, professional and friendly team.

The main duties of the role will include:

• Preparation of all outgoing stock, pulling bars and using overhead crane to manouver steel.
• Using Bandsaws to ensure all customer orders are cut accurately and to a high standard.
• Loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Checking all material loaded onto our vehicles or customer vehicles is loaded accurately, correctly and safely.
• Checking all steel movements off suppliers’ vehicles and signing paperwork.
• Working closely with the sales team to ensure all orders are completed accurately and within the agreed timeframe.
• Booking in stock deliveries and completing the booking in slips.
• Recording of any Non Conformances, including completion of the NCR form.
• Assisting other warehouse employees with their daily duties when required.
• Any other reasonable duties, which may be required by Management from time to time.

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a similar role – Essential
• Previous experience working on Band Saws - Preferred
• Knowledge of the steel industry – Preferred

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: From £12.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Overtime

Experience:

• Steel: 1 year (required)
• Band Saw: 1 year (preferred)
