Location: Manchester
Hours: An average of 42 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern - permanent nights
Holiday Entitlement: 24 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
We have a great opportunity for a Warehouse Team Leader to join an experienced team, providing a first-class service at our flour mill in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of skilled operatives to manufacture, warehouse & despatch bagged products to customers, ensuring customer demands and daily volume targets are met. Responsible for first fix, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum. Working to site quality, environmental, hygiene and health and safety systems and standards at all times.

Duties

  • To train and ensure all operatives operate the Packing Line in accordance with operational, food/feed & safety procedures, when required.
  • To cover all warehouse and production duties (including use of fork lift truck) in accordance with operational & safety procedures when required.
  • To ensure breakdown, faults are attempted at first fix or escalated to the Engineers.
  • Ensure the plan is achievable make alterations and inform relevant people to ensure best efficiency.
  • Effective use of WMS to ensure accurate stock control, picking & loading is achieved at all times.
  • To provide flexibility with working hours as required.
  • Cover warehouse Controller duties when required.
  • Stock counts are accurate and recorded in line with company procedures.
  • To ensure in process CCP’s checked and records maintained.
  • To carry out and record, food checks and health and safety checks; reporting any issues found Contribute to the sites Continuous Improvement Agenda.
  • To maintain and improve the packing and warehouse area’s cleanliness and hygiene standards; ensuring a clean as you go approach at all times.
  • To operate to procedures as defined within site quality, environmental and health and safety systems and standards. Demonstrating the ‘Safety First’ approach at all times.

Skills & Experience

  • Good level of Math’s and English
  • Computer Literate
  • Mechanical Isolation training.
  • Fork Lift Truck qualified is desirable (if not already qualified must be achieved within first 6 months).
  • Food Safety Level 2, and IOSH managing Safely (to be completed in role).
  • Working knowledge of packing equipment.
