Working as a Steward within our Security Company is a fantastic way to gain an invaluable set of transferrable skills to use in any career path!

Akon Security are based in Canterbury but operate across Kent. An applicant with access to their own transport that is able to travel to any one of our sites is desirable but not essential to the role.

Role Responsibilities:

• Crowd / People Management
• Maintaining order, reporting anti-social behaviour, ensuring crowd safety plans are adhered to
• Deliver approachable customer service and support to guests
• Report any suspicious behaviour
• Directing customers around the site
• Monitoring access points and site perimeter patrolling
• Traffic management and direction
• Liaise confidently with venue management
• Responding to emergencies in a mature and efficient manner

The right candidate will:

• Have flexible availability for shifts and always punctual
• Demonstrate excellent timekeeping
• Demonstrate you have a clear passion for keeping people safe
• Have a good understanding of security risks and threats
• Take pride in your smart and professional appearance that will give customers confidence in your ability
• Have strong verbal and written communication to liaise with team members and site managers via radio communication
• Demonstrate your ability to remain calm under pressure and stay vigilant to security risks
• You are 18 years +

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Canterbury: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

• Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
