A.C. Whyte and Co. Ltd have ambitious plans for the future and we are actively growing our team. Our construction team is actively seeking a new Gas and Plumbing Engineer to join the business.


We are looking for an Engineer to join our expanding team who has a wealth of experience within the housing sector. It is crucial that our 'Quality as Standard' ethos is reflected in all areas of our workmanship and consistently delivered across all projects therefor, the successful candidate must have an eye for detail delivering work of the highest calibre.


As the social housing sector evolves to focus on energy efficiency, this role is an opportunity be involved in the development of a rapidly-growing department. Diversity of skills, experience, and a willingness to embrace new challenges are all qualities that we’re looking for during this period of growth. A.C. Whyte is already a leader in the energy efficiency sector, and the evolution of our in-house team is signalling the way forward.


Essential Skills


  • Have the ability and knowledge to carry out essential plumbing alterations on EWI works
  • Ability to carry out plumbing repairs and domestic gas services and other associated works, ensuring all installations and repairs comply with industry guidelines
  • Safely and competently complete gas safety checks ensuring all paperwork meets industry standards
  • Issue certificates required by the relevant regulator to ensure gas safety
  • High level of organisation and planning
  • Knowledge of job monitoring systems
  • Meticulous level of detail in line with our quality as standard ethos

Essential Qualifications:

  • SVQ level 3 Plumbing & Domestic Heating (or equivalent)
  • Hold the following: CCN1, CPA1, CEN WAT1, CKR1, HTR1, MET1#
  • Full UK driving license
